The Banana Squad 1996 - 1999

Anderson Secondary School 31st Batch NPCC Cadets, a.k.a. The "Banana Squad", nicknamed for the squad's peculiar ability to bend itself when it performs "Dari tengah cepat jalan", regardless whether the squad is clad in their signature yellow school T-shirts or not.

Mark your Calendars - Our 1st drinking session together!!!

Met up with Siling, Peiling, Huina and Jeffrey last night. Thanks for setting aside time to celebrate my birthday :)
Old friends are still the best!!!!!!!!!!!!!! For those of you who were not able to make it to last night's outing, no worries!
We are planning another one 3 weeks down the road, so mark your calendars for 26th August 2006 (Sat).

For this will be our 1st drinking session together after knowing one another for 10 years. The 5 of us agreed on this when we
sat down at Macdonald's last night and chatted about our clubbing and drinking experience. Come to think of it, why didn't we
propose this when we ran out of ideas on where to go for outings? But anyway, I'm looking forward to this session and would like
to propose 2 places where we can go to chill out:

1) Loof @ Odeon Towers (Open till 2am; INDOOR & OUTDOOR)
This was recommended by my friend . It's a rooftop bar and the ambience is nice. According to a website, the bar is " faintly illuminated by the urban nightscape" and
" Fitted with unpolished wood and bare metal cages against die-cuts on frosted glass and plush lounge cushions, there is just the right amount of furniture to enjoy the night breeze and keep your privacy at the same time". I went there few weeks ago on a Friday night but the place was too crowded, in the end didn't manage to get a drink before
leaving. For those of you who are interested, can check out: www.loof.com.sg

2) Timbre (Open from 6pm except Sundays; OUTDOOR)
Situated along Armenien Street and directly opposite Singapore Management University, this bistro/music/bar is amazing in the sense that it is at the heart of the city centre, and yet it is well-hidden from the crowd, as its website describes "Tucked away from the maddening crowd - in a hidden, dew-kissed nook at Armenien Street, a fresh fusion of music and food has planted itself among the waving leafy fronds..." Personally, I feel that it is a cool place to unwind, and literally it is also cool when I went there with my friend one night, cool and windy, yoo hoo~ There will be a different live band performing every night of the week, from 9.30 onwards if i'm not mistaken. I only went there once and my friend and I had a couple of drinks; the best thing is our last drink was on the house! Pls see: www.timbre.com.sg

So, dear friends, let me know you are more inclined towards Option 1 or Option 2. And yes, would be glad with other suggestions.
Let me know if you are able to make it on 26th August 2006 in you post or can add your comment to this posting, so that i
can have a rough idea of who's going k? We would be hitting the bar after 9 pm ~Woo hoo~ Don't mind meeting for dinner
first at around 7 plus. I'll be sending an SMS closer to the date to confirm the details, meanwhile am open to any other
ideas you all may have :)
